My dad used to keep chickens. As they laid more than the family could eat, he bartered them with friends & neighbours (& the then manager of the Tollgate). Some did seem to prefer one colour shell or another.
My parents knew it was all twaddle and the only excitement hens' eggs ever created in young Oxsaw's ancestral pile was when mum cracked open a "double-yolker" for the Sunday breakfast fry-up.
I'm sure that qualifies for a "Fnar-fnar", too, but can't be arsed.

When I was a kid - 50 years ago you could buy either white or brown eggs. At the time the brown eggs were thought to be better and were sold at a higher price.
The hens eggs you buy in Sweden come in one colour - white.
